The Trevor Project’s annual Trevor Live is back again this year and a bunch of Glee cast members are slated to be there. Trevor Live is an annual event that raises money for The Trevor Project, the world’s leading anti-suicide prevention organization aimed at LGBT teens.

Glee cast members that are scheduled to make appearances are Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Jane Lynch, Damian McGinty, Kevin McHale, Harry Shum Jr., and Naya Rivera.

The event takes place tonight, Sunday, December 4th at The Hollywood Palladium.

Other attendees include Amy Poehler, Jesse Tyler Ferugsen, and Brian Ryan himself, Neil Patrick Harris.

Season 3 is barely underway and we already have a treasure trove of goodies to look forward to, straight from the mouth of Ryan Murphy as reported by TVGuide. We already know that Idina Menzel’s Shelby Corcoran is coming back for a multiple episode arc, and Lauren Zizes (Ashley Fink) is quitting New Directions. Worried about Lauren being written out of the show? Don’t worry; she has a “major story with Chris Colfer” later in the season, according to Murphy.

It’s already shaping up to be a big year for Mike Chang (Harry Shum Jr.). Not only was he just given parents earlier in the summer, Murphy confirms that the infamously bad singer will sing at least two songs by the time the fourth episode rolls around, and that’s not a typo– he’s singing, not dancing.

And what about those promises made earlier in the summer, that there would be no more special guests, no more tribute episodes, that the Glee Project winners would get some great roles? Well, so far he’s mostly sticking to his guns. Aside from new characters played by Vanessa Lengies and LaMarcus Tinker, there are no current plans to add any more guest stars, although Gwyneth Paltrow making a return to her Emmy-award winning performance as Holly Holiday is possible later in the year. The Glee Project winners will be staggered throughout the season, with Damian McGinty arriving in the fourth episode as a foreign exchange student staying with Brittany (Heather Morris). Naturally, she “thinks he’s a leprechaun with magical powers”. Samuel Larsen will be appearing mid-season as a relative of Mark Salling’s Puck. One or both of them might still be around for the one tribute episode they’re planning this year. The details are still fuzzy and secretive, but if it works out it will be a two-hour episode in the spring dedicated to the music of an act they’ve been trying to license for the past couple years.

TV Guide has released an exclusive clip of the first 36 seconds of the Season 3 premiere episode “The Purple Piano Project,” so don’t read on if you don’t want to be spoiled! In the clip, Jacob Ben Isreal talks to the various glee club members about their plans for the future. This clip finally reveals who is a senior and who is a junior. We’ve already learned that Tina is a junior, but watch the video below to find out which other member of the New Directions is a confirmed junior as well!

TVLine‘s Michael Ausiello brings us some news that has Darren Criss and Harry Shum Jr. fans breathing a sigh of relief, but has upset the fans of season two addition Chord Overstreet. Check out what Ausiello has to say below:

It’s a case of good news/bad news for Glee fans.

First the good: Darren Criss (Blaine) and Harry Shum Jr. (Mike) have officially been upgraded to full-time series regulars, effective this fall with the start of Season 3.

And now for the not so good news…

Chord Overstreet‘s series regular option has not been picked up. However, a source close to the show says the actor — who joined the Fox hit last fall in the recurring role of McKinley transfer student Sam Evans — could return as an occasional guest star.

I don’t think we could afford to lose another member of the New Directions! We’re glad to hear we’ll be seeing more of Lauren Zizes come fall.

We recently got the chance to talk with Glee‘s Harry Shum Jr. while he was busy promoting his new movie. You probably know him as Mike Chang in New Directions, but he is also reprising his role, Cable from Step Up 2: The Streets, in the latest installment of the Step Up series, Step Up 3D. We chatted over the phone with him about everything from Step Up 3D to The LXD and even asked him about working with the new Glee cast additions, Chord Overstreet and Charice. We had a ton of fun with the interview and hope that you enjoy it. Make sure to check out Step Up 3D in theaters everywhere on August 6th.

Ok, first question. Step Up 3D is a dance film shot entirely in 3D, so how was filming a 3D movie different from filming a normal 2D film or TV show?

You know, it’s a lot different as far as how they film it. They have to use 2 lens special cameras and they try and not change our movements too much. They want us to be as organic as possible, but at certain moments, if you spin too fast, the camera might not read it in a sense of the 3D technology, but definitely pulling us in and out through depth and making the audience feel like they’re there. What’s cool is after you get done filming a dance sequence, you can go around to the monitors and put on some glasses, and they have this big HD monitor where you can see the playback in 3D, so that was the coolest part of it.

Any ‘let’s reach right into the camera’ moves?

No, they try to stay away from that. I mean, there is one or two of those, just for the fun of paying homage to the Captian EO’s of the Michael Jackson old 3D ride, you know, but most of the time it just throws you into the action and makes you feel like you’re there. Like, they have a camera shot where they’re panning behind a guy’s head and it looks like you’re one of the audience members trying to look past the guy and see the action happen. So it’s really cool. It’s like people dancing on your lap.

What was it like getting to film in New York City?

Oh, it was so cool. I mean, at that moment, I was filming Glee at the same time and I literally was just going from the set of Glee all the way jumping onto the set of Step Up 3D as well as working on LXD at the same time. It was definitely a heavy multitasking, but there’s something about the energy of New York that gives you this energy to want to dance, especially because it has so much history. That’s where hip hop originated from, so I love it there, man. You know, I think it was the right idea to bring Step Up 3D to New York.

Yeah, another question I had was what was is like having to balance working on LXD, Step Up, and Glee all at the same time?

I got confused a couple of moments. When we’d start doing certain rehearsals, and ‘uh, where am I at right now? Oh yeah, I’m at LXD’ — a little bit of scheduling and just having the love of being a part of these projects. You know I just feel so lucky and blessed to be part of all these projects and especially Glee for what it represents and Step Up 3D for being so innovative, and LXD just being able to be in all aspects of the creative process. It’s really been a dream to be a part of all these projects at the same time, so I think that’s what keeps me going and to be able to want to make all across the board, everything I do for all the projects, giving it my all. So that’s the passion that definitely keeps me going.

Harry Shum Jr., who plays the “other Asian”, Mike Chang, announced through Twitter that his two projects would come together when LXD hits the road and opens for the Glee concert tour! Article 1: Harry Shum Jr. is ‘Glee’-ful about his role

LOS ANGELES — One of the more indelible images from the first 13 episodes of “Glee” wasn’t on the stage, it was on the football field.

Specifically, when the woeful McKinley High football team performed a dance number to Beyonce’s “Single Ladies,” stunning their opponents and scoring the winning touchdown.

And it wasn’t easy. Dancing in football uniforms, that is. Even for the cast’s resident professional dancer, Harry Shum Jr. (who plays glee club member Mike Chang).

“It’s very difficult to dance in football gear. It really is,” Shum told the Deseret News on the set of “Glee.” “You have to exaggerate all the movements. It was actually, I think, one of the hardest dances we’ve had to do. Because you’re just constricted.

“We’re out there and the director is yelling, ‘Make it bigger! Maker it bigger!’ And I’m, like, ‘I am making it bigger,’ ” he said with a laugh.

Shum hasn’t exactly been front and center on “Glee” — although he’s been in just about every episode, he’s billed as a guest star.

And, while he hasn’t had many lines, you’ve heard more of him than you’re probably aware. Shum is singing on numbers like “Don’t Stop Believing” even though his character wasn’t on camera.

Article 2: Glee’s Harry Shum, Jr. is Much More Than Just “The Other Asian”

No one wants to go through life known as “the Asian dude.” But for Harry Shum, Jr., it’s a dream come true. The 27-year-old plays football player and show-choir member Mike Chang on the hit show “Glee,” but he’s much better known for being “the other Asian,” a nickname dubbed by Jane Lynch’s scary cheerleading coach character, Sue Sylvester.

Shum is no stranger to being a token Asian. Growing up in Costa Rica, he was often the only Asian in a crowd of Latin American faces. “My parents spoke three different languages in one sentence, and I would get so confused as a kid,” he recalled. While he spoke Spanish and English at school, it wasn’t until he moved to San Francisco at age six that he began to learn Cantonese as well. But that wasn’t the only difficult part of his childhood. “I was a really shy, really quiet kid—almost to the point where my parents thought something was wrong with me,” he said. So how did a young child who never spoke or socialized with others end up with a life in the spotlight?
