Have a Question for Chris Colfer?

Posted by Rob on Apr-03-2012 under Chris Colfer, GleeFan.com Exclusives, News

Chris ColferOnce again, Chris Colfer will soon be answering some questions from GleeFan.com readers in an upcoming Q&A!

Chris has kindly agreed to do another Q&A in the same format as the previous Q&As we’ve done with him and other Glee cast members. Once all the questions are submitted, I’ll be sending the best ones to Chris, so please have your questions in by 11:59pm EST on Tuesday, April 17th.

You may either leave your questions here as a comment, email them to me directly at Rob@GleeFan.com with the subject “Chris Colfer Fan Questions”, or even Tweet them to me @GleekRob. Remember to include your first name and optionally your last initial, as well as where you are from. If you would like, you can also include your age. For example, if I were to ask a question, at the end I would say, “Rob B. (19, Richmond, VA).” Also, please use your real email address if you are leaving a comment, because I will be sending out a reminder email to the people whose questions were selected.

We’re looking for a good mix of serious and silly questions, but definitely feel free to ask him about his book, The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell, and the upcoming film he wrote and starred in, Struck by Lightning! Just don’t waste your questions by asking for juicy Glee spoilers. ;)

Good luck, and I can’t wait to read through all your questions!

No Glee Tour This Summer

Photo Credit: FOX BroadcastingIt’s a sad day, Gleeks. The annual Glee tour will not be happening this year to allow the cast time to relax.  The Hollywood Reporter is saying that the Glee cast will receive a two month break, but a one-night benefit concert is being planned in California.

A spokesperson for Fox told The Hollywood Reporter, “We currently have no plans of touring the cast this summer.”

The one night event will be at the Hollywood Bowl and will raise money for Glee‘s Give a Note Foundation, which raises money for the arts education in middle schools and high schools. The goal is to raise $10 million this year.

The cast’s various projects would most likely interfere with the tour.  Such projects include Chris’ new book as well as new movie. Also, Amber and Naya are gearing up for the release of their new albums.

It should be noted that Ryan Murphy, who usually goes on tour with the cast, is also extremely busy with his three other shows: The Glee Project, American Horror Story, and an upcoming comedy show called The New Normal on NBC.

What’re your thoughts on this announcement? Do you wish the cast were touring?

Chris Colfer Joins Prop 8 Play

Posted by Mary on Feb-16-2012 under Cast & Crew, Chris Colfer, Events, Jane Lynch, Matthew Morrison, News

Photo Credit: TwitterChris Colfer has added another project to his ever expanding resume! Chris has signed on to partake in Dustin Lawrence Black’s Prop 8 play, aptly titled 8.

The play will be a special one night event at California’s Wilshire Ebell Theatre on March 3rd.  Other actors partaking in this event include George Clooney, Kevin Bacon, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and more. Chris isn’t the only Glee cast member either. Jane Lynch and Matthew Morrison have also signed on.

Proposition 8, for those who don’t know, was a ballet proposition in California that wanted to make marriage only valid between one man and one woman. The proposition was heavily discussed in the media when first introduced back in 2008.

The play is scheduled to go on a nationwide tour, sans the celebrity cast members, later this year.

Season 4: Who’s Staying?

The past few weeks have been a constant whirlwind of news about Glee‘s future: there will be a Season 4; characters are graduating yet also staying on the show; the format will be a completely awesome and novel concept. Now that the winds are dying down and the fate of graduating fan favorites like Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, Cory Monteith, and Naya Rivera have been confirmed, questions start to be raised. Questions like: what about the rest of the cast?

The truth is, nobody knows yet, not even the cast themselves. When asked at the Fox TCA All-Star party, Mark Salling confided that he has no idea what his future holds.

“It’s just nice to really be able to work with the people I do and have the job I do. I feel blessed. And if they want to have me back, I’d love to.”

Sounds pretty good… after all, who wouldn’t want more Puck? Meanwhile, could there be room for more cast additions? Rumors are floating around that Grant Gustin, currently playing meerkat-faced Sebastian, is being picked up as a series regular for next season. Although Fox cautions that “we are not finalizing season four regulars until May” and Grant himself tweeted caution that series regular status hasn’t been made official yet, it looks like we’ll be seeing a lot more of Kurt’s rival next year.

There you have it, Gleeks! What do you think? Can you wait until May to find out who’s staying and who’s leaving? Do you think Sebastian should be added to the ranks of full-time characters? Leave a comment below!

Season 3 Spoilers from Ryan Murphy

Photo Credit: Season 3 is barely underway and we already have a treasure trove of goodies to look forward to, straight from the mouth of Ryan Murphy as reported by TVGuide. We already know that Idina Menzel’s Shelby Corcoran is coming back for a multiple episode arc, and Lauren Zizes (Ashley Fink) is quitting New Directions. Worried about Lauren being written out of the show? Don’t worry; she has a “major story with Chris Colfer” later in the season, according to Murphy.

It’s already shaping up to be a big year for Mike Chang (Harry Shum Jr.). Not only was he just given parents earlier in the summer, Murphy confirms that the infamously bad singer will sing at least two songs by the time the fourth episode rolls around, and that’s not a typo– he’s singing, not dancing.

And what about those promises made earlier in the summer, that there would be no more special guests, no more tribute episodes, that the Glee Project winners would get some great roles? Well, so far he’s mostly sticking to his guns. Aside from new characters played by Vanessa Lengies and LaMarcus Tinker, there are no current plans to add any more guest stars, although Gwyneth Paltrow making a return to her Emmy-award winning performance as Holly Holiday is possible later in the year. The Glee Project winners will be staggered throughout the season, with Damian McGinty arriving in the fourth episode as a foreign exchange student staying with Brittany (Heather Morris). Naturally, she “thinks he’s a leprechaun with magical powers”. Samuel Larsen will be appearing mid-season as a relative of Mark Salling’s Puck. One or both of them might still be around for the one tribute episode they’re planning this year. The details are still fuzzy and secretive, but if it works out it will be a two-hour episode in the spring dedicated to the music of an act they’ve been trying to license for the past couple years.

What’s your favorite bit of news, Gleeks? Being able to add some more Harry Shum to your iPod? More drama for Will and Emma? Seeing Gwyneth Paltrow, Damian, and Samuel back on your TV screen? Excitement for the season is already amping up, and we’re only in the first week! Share your thoughts below!

Chris Colfer Says Season 3 is ‘Intense’

Posted by Mary on Sep-06-2011 under Cast & Crew, Chris Colfer, Glee Episode Spoilers, Interviews, News

Credit: FOX BroadcastingAs Season 3 draws closer, new interviews with the cast are popping up everywhere!  In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Chris Colfer spoke about Kurt’s arc this season, Blaine and Kurt’s relationship, and the season 3 premiere.  Some highlights from the interview include:

So what will Kurt’s arc be this season?
One thing with Kurt that they’re tapping into — which I’ve never seen done on TV — they’re really having Kurt having go through the levels of acceptance. He learned to accept himself in the first and second season and now I think he’s really still struggling to still find acceptance from others, unfortunately.

Is Blaine going to McKinley?
Well… you shall see.

Can you tease his storyline a bit?
[Laughs] He is entering a new area of school, or attempting [to enter] into a new area of school and responsibility that we have not seen him enter yet.

Chris also mentioned that he already had to receive medical attention while working on a musical number, saying:

I had my fifth visit straight from set to hospital the other day. The fifth time where I had to leave set and go to the hospital.

With only two weeks left until the premiere, we can’t wait to see how Kurt’s storyline evolves!  If you had your way, what would you want to happen with Kurt this season?
