Ausiello: Only that it doesn’t involve him losing a limb or a relative. “It’s Glee tragic,” clarifies executive producer Brad Falchuk. “He’s not going to lose an arm. No family member will pass away. He will get some news that is very surprising that will have a very big effect on his life.”

Glee Episode Spoilers,
News
According to some leaked casting calls for the back nine, we can expect to see a new character in Episode 1.17, titled “Laryngitis“, which will me filming from February 23rd to March 4th.
The character is named Shawn, and they’re casting people ages 18 to 25 for the guest star role. He’ll be a high school Senior who was injured and is now a paraplegic. He’s described as “a cute, funny jock type.” It’ll be interesting to see another paraplegic in the school since Artie has mentioned that he’s not the only kid in a wheelchair at the school, but we haven’t seen anyone else yet.
Also, in episode 15, “Home“, we’ll see Tracy Pendergrass, a 30 to 40 year old African American guy who is a hip and cool journalist and Peter Gow, who is a 40 something year old male Asian lawyer with a dry sense of humor. There are two laid back movers for an Ohio moving company, Leroy and Guy, who are both big, built dudes. Lastly, there’s a Nurse in a local hospital. She is sweet, pleasantly plump, and described as “very Ohio”.

A few weeks ago, Ausiello revealed two of the three new roles which will be cast in the the nationwide casting search. One was a jock boyfriend for Kurt, the second was an “Eve Harrington-esque” rival for Rachel The third has just been revealed – it’s a male Mercedes!
“The third role is an R&B-singing teen. A male Mercedes!” Says Ryan Murphy to Ausiello.
Excited yet, gleeks?! Well, chances are this character could be a love interest for Mercedes as well as her male counterpart. Ausiello cleverly hid the spoiler beneath asterisks – but we decoded it for you. :) “Kurt isn’t the only seemingly celibate Glee character getting a love interest next season!”
