Airing during the spring premiere on April 10, Glee will cover the indie smash hit by Gotye, “Somebody That I Used to Know.” The infectious single from Belgium-Australian singer-songwriter will be covered by Blaine and his brother, played by Matt Bomer. The song has been transformed from a heartbreak-ridden duet to an ode to a classic sibling rivalry between the two brothers.

Lima and McKinley will be seeing some new faces in the next few weeks! It seems as though Glee and LiLo has buried the hatchet, at least for now. TV Line is reporting that Lindsay Lohan will appear in one of the last episodes of the season as herself, specifically as a judge at Nationals. The role is still in negotiations, but if everything goes well, we will be seeing the former Parent Trap actress on our television screens in a matter of weeks! This appearance would be a comeback for Lohan who has had a troubling few years with minimal roles.

Furthermore, another celebrity will be visiting Lima! TV Line also reported that Whoopi Goldberg will be cast in multi-episode arc.

Goldberg will portray Carmen Tibideaux, a theatrical professional and a professor at NYADA who travels to Ohio to preside over Kurt and Rachel’s auditions. It seems as though she will be around for three episodes beginning May first, according to Michael Ausiello.

What’re your thoughts on the new guest stars?

The cast of Glee are taking over this year’s GLAAD Media Awards!

Naya Rivera took the stage in 2011 as host of the GLAAD Media Awards in San Francisco, and clearly impressed all the right people. The actress, who’s character Santana dealt with a very public outing and less than accepting family members this season, has been invited back as host of the 23rd annual GLAAD Media Awards in NYC on March 24th, along with Glee co-star Cory Monteith.

The awards will also have a portion held in San Francisco on June 2nd, which will be hosted by Glee’s Dianna Agron.

We’ve already met Rachel’s dads, Sam’s parents, Blaine’s brother, and Santana’s mother. Keeping with this season’s theme of family introductions, Glee has cast former Melrose Place actor Thomas Calabro as Puck’s estranged father.

The actor is set to star in episode 18, but no further details have been revealed as to the reason behind his sudden appearance.

Recently the Glee cast hit the milestone of becoming the Number 8 Top Selling Digital Artists in the US. While many credit the success of the show to its big name stars like Lea Michele and Darren Criss, the real driving force behind Fox’s musical comedy is the man behind the scenes- Executive Music Producer Adam Ander’s. He’s responsible for taking the David Guetta and Usher’s pop anthem “Without You” and turing into Rachel Berry’s power ballad for Finn. He’s also the genius that took Adele’s “Someone Like You” and “Rumor Has It” and turned it into an unforgettable mashup that Adele’s own manager thought was “brilliant [and] so creative.”

Here in our GleeFan.com exclusive Q&A Adam has answered your questions! He talks about the challenges of producing music for the show, the process behind it, Amber Riley‘s Solo Album, and Noah Saw Salling’s accident in the studio!

Q: “What inspired you to pursue music producing? How did you become involved with Glee?” – Joey S. (17, Arizona)
A: I grew up in a musical family. My first memory is sleeping under a mixing console. I was always writing songs…and then realized I needed to record them. So I started making demos of my own songs in my bedroom. The rest is history really.

Q: “How do you plan what songs to use for each episode? And what’s their process of elimination?” – Laura M. (Ireland)
A: Ryan Murphy plans all that while he writes the script with the writing team. A lot of times he give me options and I tell him what I think works the best musically. This especially happens a lot on mashups. He says “I want to mash “X” up with something…Any ideas?”

Q: “When arranging songs, what do you consider first, the artist who will sing it or how you want the song to sound?” – Olga Benitez (Puerto Rico)
A: On Glee, the scene drives what my partner Peer and I do. Then based on the song, we may decide to do a totally new take that would sound amazing on the particular character singing it. When working with traditional recording artists outside of Glee, it’s all about the artist. Whatever is best for that artist wins out always.

Q: “Who is the goofiest person in the studio? Can you give us a story of something that had you in laughs?” – Raquel H. (Los Angeles, California)
A: I don’t know who is the goofiest… That depends on who is the most tired that particular week! But Mark did bring his dog [Noah Saw Salling] to the studio, and let’s just say it wasn’t potty trained yet.

Q: “It’s speculated that you are the executive producer for Amber’s album. Can you give us any information about the genre, release date, or 1st single for Amber solo album? Anything really!” – Rocelle Alexia (Toronto, Canada)
A: It’s true. I am Executive Producer on Amber’s Album. I am her biggest fan and am so excited to be a part of it. I have always said she is one of the best singers on the planet, so this album has to be made, and it will be amazing! There is no release date yet…but look for it sometime before summer.

Glee stars Chris Colfer, Jane Lynch, Matthew Morrison, and Matt Bomer will be appearing in the controversial, and star-studded, play 8, Saturday, March 3. Written by Oscar-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black and directed by Rob Reiner, the play is an interpretation of the legal battles surrounding Proposition 8 in California, a 2008 ballot proposition that stated that “only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California”, and was overturned in August 2010.

The play, which draws primarily from the court transcripts of the 2010 trial, was performed in New York City for a one-night fundraiser for AFER (American Foundation for Equal Rights) back in September of 2010. The play will be performed this Saturday as a “benefit reading for marriage equality” at the Wilshire Ebell Theater, and will be live-streamed both on Youtube and on AFER.org.

Uncover the truth about marriage for gay and lesbian Americans. George Clooney, Martin Sheen and Jane Lynch join an all-star cast for a one-night-only benefit reading of “8,” the new play by Academy-award winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black (Milk, J. AfterEllen, yesterday posted their list of Top 50 Favorite Female TV Characters and Glee’s very own Santana Lopez topped the list. Here’s what they had to say about the sassy cheerleader:

About a year ago, Naya Rivera took the top spot on our AfterEllen.com Hot 100. Now Santana Lopez has captured the trophy for Favorite TV Character. Two winners of two seperate polls who look just alike!

Santana may have started out as a supporting Cheerio. Just a pretty mean girl who could cut you with her words. (“You’re about as sexy as a Cabbage Patch Kid.” “You dress like one of the bait girls on To Catch a Predator.” “Normally you dress like a fantasy of a perverted Japanese business man with a very dark specific fetish.”) But inside that hard, Lima Heights adjacent exterior is just a girl, standing in front of another girl, asking her to love her.

Glee may be one of the most ridiculous shows on TV at times, but sometimes it’s also the most poignant. And for the last season and a half, Santana is the one who has kept the entire production emotionally grounded. She sings, she dances, she zings. But mostly she loves. And we can’t help but love her back.

Santana wasn’t the only McKinley High cheerleader to make the list, Brittany S. Pierce ranked in at #19.

Two weeks ago I was able to cover the Belvedere (RED) Pre-Grammy for our friends at Starry Constellation Magazine. While there, I had the pleasure of talking to Glee‘s very own Irish Lucky Charm Damian McGinty.

Damian was very excited as he discussed his character’s love-triangle storyline and solo performance of Michael Buble’s “Home” in the episode “Heart.” Being able to perform “Home” was particularly meaningful to Damian because he revealed to me at Trevor Live that it was the one song he really wanted to sing on Glee. Although in the context of his character being an exchange student from Ireland, he did casually mention, “If I’m singing ‘Home’, does that mean I’m going home?” After watching the episode, are we supposed to give Rory the benefit of the doubt and believe that he is getting deported or was it really just a ploy to get Sugar Motta to ask him to her Valentine’s Day Dance. I guess we’ll find out depending on Damian’s plans for Season 4.

When asked about being a regular next season, Damian had some interesting scoop to give to us regarding those lingering Season 4 rumors. He revealed talks about his contract haven’t begun yet and that he’s just really trying to enjoy his time in the now. While answering the status of his Glee future, Damian inadvertently confirmed some unknown statuses for some of the others:

“Honestly the reality is that nobody apart from 3 or 4 people know if they’re going to be on Glee next year. So everything’s up in the air with the whole Season 4 coming up, so we’ll see what happens.”

So as of right now, we know that Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer, and Naya Rivera are all confirmed for Season 4. Should we be worried about the future of the rest of the “seniors” which include Mark Salling, Amber Riley, Dianna Agron, Heather Morris, Harry Shum Jr., and Chord Overstreet? Maybe, but don’t go chasing Ryan Murphy & Co. just yet! There is still plenty of time for contract negotiations especially now that there is no Glee Concert Tour this Summer.

On a lighter note, other topics discussed involved Damian’s adjustment to America. In a blog post Damian wrote, he said he never tried Peanut Butter before. Gasp! Peanut butter is one of my favorite foods, so I just had to get the scoop. When asked about it, Damian said he had never eaten it before September when Mark and Darren made him eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Damian joked though:

“Eveyone knows that on the set of Glee, [Glee writers] write about what [cast members] learn as a person. So maybe there’s going to be a peanut butter scene. Who knows? Wait and see!”

Hrm, is he joking or is this an actual hint? I hope he’s not cause some of the writers here at GleeFan.com (aka Mary, Laura, Jon & myself) have been debating the awesomeness of peanut butter for days. I think a peanut butter scene would settle the argument and be the icing on the proverbial cake.

Update February 28: Damian wasn’t joking! Glee featured Rory Flannigan tasting peanut butter for the first time in episode 3x14 “On My Way.”

It’s a sad day, Gleeks. The annual Glee tour will not be happening this year to allow the cast time to relax.  The Hollywood Reporter is saying that the Glee cast will receive a two month break, but a one-night benefit concert is being planned in California.

A spokesperson for Fox told The Hollywood Reporter, “We currently have no plans of touring the cast this summer.”

The one night event will be at the Hollywood Bowl and will raise money for Glee‘s Give a Note Foundation, which raises money for the arts education in middle schools and high schools. The goal is to raise $10 million this year.

The cast’s various projects would most likely interfere with the tour.  Such projects include Chris’ new book as well as new movie. Also, Amber and Naya are gearing up for the release of their new albums.

It should be noted that Ryan Murphy, who usually goes on tour with the cast, is also extremely busy with his three other shows: The Glee Project, American Horror Story, and an upcoming comedy show called The New Normal on NBC.

Chris Colfer has added another project to his ever expanding resume! Chris has signed on to partake in Dustin Lawrence Black’s Prop 8 play, aptly titled 8.

The play will be a special one night event at California’s Wilshire Ebell Theatre on March 3rd.  Other actors partaking in this event include George Clooney, Kevin Bacon, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and more. Chris isn’t the only Glee cast member either. Jane Lynch and Matthew Morrison have also signed on.

Proposition 8, for those who don’t know, was a ballet proposition in California that wanted to make marriage only valid between one man and one woman. The proposition was heavily discussed in the media when first introduced back in 2008.

The play is scheduled to go on a nationwide tour, sans the celebrity cast members, later this year.

This past Thursday, I had the opportunity to talk with Damian McGinty at the Belvedere (RED) Pre-Grammy Party in Hollywood for our friends at Starry Constellation Magazine. While there, Damian inadvertently revealed an enormous filming secret! When discussing the hectic schedule of Glee, he revealed that he almost did not make it to the event because:

“We just finished filming a wedding”

I repeat, Damian exclusively revealed that they just filmed A WEDDING! Of course we all know that there are two engagements on the show right now: the expected engagement between Will Shuester and Emma Pillsbury and the surprising one between Finn Hudson and Rachel Berry. When asked, if it was Wemma’s or Finchel’s? Damian was tight lipped and said: “You’ll have to wait and see, but what I can say is the bride looked absolutely beautiful.”

Now Damian’s hints don’t give us too much details until you take into account prior Tweets from the cast. Previously, Lea Michele Tweeted:

In addition, cast members Chord Overstreet and Kevin Mchale both Tweeted pictures with Jeff Goldblum who plays Hiram Berry, one of Rachel’s dads, that same Thursday they filmed the wedding. While we don’t have any context about the wedding, evidence is shaping up to be purely Finchel. Does this mean Rachel Berry will now be Rachel Hudson? For now, we’ll have to wait until the episode airs, but we can all still speculate.

Will Schuester is about to get some competition in the form of a new Spanish teacher named David Martinez, played by Latin-American superstar Ricky Martin. In anticipation for this week’s episode where Mr. Martinez teaches Will some more Spanish skills and gives New Directions a singing lesson they’ll never forget, Glee posted the full video of Ricky singing the current chart topper “Sexy and I Know It” by LMFAO on their YouTube.
