Online Open Casting Call
If you’ve been longing to get on the show, but aren’t able to go through the showbiz system — agents, head shots, auditions and living in LA, then here’s your chance! Fox, in a marketing stroke of genius, decided to have an open casting call with a twist. They’re making it available to anyone with an internet connection. This should be interesting. Here’s some info from www.fox.com/glee/audition:
Online Submissions Will Be Accepted
The executive producers of Glee will begin an online open casting search this February to fill three new roles that will be added to the show’s second season.
Auditions will be open to professional and amateur individuals between the ages of 16-26. All hopefuls will be able to submit auditions online. Additional details to be announced soon.
Detailed information isn’t up yet, but it should be soon since the casting search is scheduled to begin in Febuary. Also, note that although it was called a “nationwide” casting search, my sources at Fox tell me that it will be global and they’re accepting online auditions from all over the world.
Honestly, they are going to have to sift through a LOT of auditions of people with no acting or singing experience singing pop songs into their webcams. Maybe this was done more for the hype (and media attention) than it was actually done for finding new cast members. This process can’t be very efficient, but maybe the next three New Directions members are out there, waiting to be discovered. Who knows! Anything’s possible. I happen to know a few people who are talented actors and singers in local musical theater productions, and if this casting call could help those types of people be discovered, then it could be a great thing. i think it’s a good idea and knowingly brought about to generate more attention.
i like to think i can act but, darnit, i wish i could sing.

And if it has generated enough hits to crash it, then it’s doing its job. ;)
I really would like to be there to do the audition, but Im from Argentina so .. no chance. Im an actress since im ten, now im eigtheen and also I sing cause I did some musical here in my country. Well good luck for those who are planning to go :)

I was so happy when they said open auditions, and then I saw 16-26 and I’m barely too young! grrr
when are they gonna post about the auditions? I’m getting anxious/ worried…..
singing is my main thing..i have performed in operas since i was 7 and have done so many musical theater productions. im confident in my acting abilities but i dont have any info on auditions. haha i guess none of us do :)) im getting worried that it is so late in february and nothing is posted.
