Justin Bieber Episode NOT Happening
Bad news for the Beliebers, but good news for everyone else! After a day full of media hoopla over a potential Justin Bieber-centric episode, Glee creator Ryan Murphy put an end to all the frenzy. In an exclusive report with PerezHiltion.com, he said: “Glee is NOT doing a Justin Bieber tribute episode. We are not doing any more of those this season. Those are reserved for artists with a big catalogue, ala Madonna and Britney, etc.”
He went on to clarify that they will be using a song from the Biebz, but it is far from a tribute episode. “We are doing an episode where Sam sings a JB song to win Quinn back…and copies his hairstyle, etc. But it’s a small part of a big episode that has a LOT of other things going on.”
I know that people had their own opinions on the matter (I know I did), but I think we can all breathe a collective sigh knowing that there won’t be any more tribute episodes this season. Now the real question is, why did it take a whole day for Glee execs to clarify the news?
I have three theories, and I’m thinking that one of these is likely the case:
1) The Justin Bieber episode actually was in the works, but due to all of the negative backlash, they decided to scale it down.
2) They let the rumor go on for a day because of all the the attention it was getting, and lets be real, free press is the best press.
OR
3) The execs had a JB episode in mind, but weren’t quite sure whether the fans would approve, so they had a (not unheard of) test leak. After a day of feeling out the response, they would decide whether it was a good idea or not.
Whatever the reason, I’m ecstatic that they will not be having a tribute episode for the rest of the season. That leaves more time for everyone’s favorite, character development!
I’ll go with option 2
I think it was leaked that a Beiber song was going to be done, and spun out of control into a whole episode. I mean like RM said, there is not a big catalouge of his songs to even merit a whole episode.
Imagine what Rachel Berry would say of the notion of singing a song of his!
Yeah, I’m going to have to go with option 2 as well. This episode has already been written and has been in production for a while before the Bieber spoiler came out. Iqbal Theba tweeted that they were filming parts of episode 13 before the hiatus. The press got word of the song and let’s face it -anything Bieber is going to get attention. Just another example of how the press can make a story out of the smallest detail.
On other spoilers, didn’t the press say Gwyneth Paltrow was coming back for the Super Bowl episode? Turns out she only starts filming in January for her two episodes.
Until we get some context to spoilers, we shouldn’t take them at face value. This one created a stir. Thank God, Ryan intervened to let us know what it really was all about.
That’s a relief. A bieber episode would have me questioning whether this is really a show I should be watching. I’m not a huge bieber hater but he is wrong for Glee (at least the way the show started out. Hopefully that doesn’t change).
*breathes sigh of relief*

THANK THE LORD! I would have cried so hard if glee did a Beiber tribute episode! There would have been enough tears from me alone to fill like five buckets.
That would have been the WORST Glee episode that I have EVER seen… And I’ve seen every single episode, all the bonus stuff, etc.
A Justin Beiber tribute episode would be I think the wosrt thing to happen to Fox… He’s not a great and amazing artist like Madonna, Britney (some of Britney), etc.
