Glee: The Complete First Season to be Released on DVD & Blue-ray
Get ready, Gleeks! Fox has just announced that on September 14, they will release Glee: The Complete First Season on Blu-ray and DVD, featuring all 22 one-hour episodes of the show’s freshman season. The box set, Blu-ray and DVD, is fully loaded with exclusive bonus materials and extended episodes, a sing-along karaoke, a behind-the-scenes look at “The Power of Madonna” episode, Glee Makeovers, never-before-seen “Sue’s Corners” and a dance tutorial titled “Staying in Step with Glee.”
Glee: The Complete First Season will be available in a four-disc Blu-ray set for $69.99 U.S/$89.99 Canada and seven-disc DVD set for $59.98 U.S./$69.98 Canada. In addition, Gleeks who purchased Glee: Volume One: Road To Sectionals (the 1st 13 episodes) last winter can receive a special $10.00 “Gleebate” by simply completing a Mail-in Certificate and submitting it with proof of purchase for both titles. Visit www.gleebatedvd.com after June 1, 2010 for complete details.
Ryan Murphy talks about the exciting DVD release:
“The show started out as a comedy musical about the underdog in all of us and has blossomed, largely due to the incredible support and passion from the fans that have embraced the show,” says Murphy. “When we developed the Blu-ray and DVD, we wanted to give those fans something special because they’ve been so great to us. There’s everything from a sing-along karaoke, to a behind-the-scenes look at our Madonna episode, to a dance lesson from our amazing choreographers. There’s even some all new Sue’s Corners which have never been seen before. It’s our ‘thank you’ to the Gleeks.”

70 dlls! are you fucking kidding me ??!
FOX: We want to money!!!
thats a super fast release date.
Oh sure Fox… why release a “Glee Season 1 VOLUME 1″ DVD when a Volume 2 won’t even be released. right? That’s so not a confusing decision! While we’re at it, I find recipes confusing, and I don’t know how to turn on a computer…
Thank you FOX for the $25 Scam you put onto your gleeks and exchanging it with a lousy $10 “gleebate”. I’m sure glad that my money could’ve gotten to a worthy charity but instead to a dvd that would be soon substituted after 5 months :)
So, is it true that there won’t be a volume 2 released or is that just hearsay?
I guess I may need to sell Volume 1 back and get the full season to continue my senior sem research. Hmmm. Bad move by FOX in my opinion.
$60! But I wasted $30, half for only the first half.
Total no!
I’ll still get it though. Every Glee Fan should get it.
I’m lucky cause it comes out 4 days before my birthday, so I guess that’s my birthday present for this year. :D
I AAAAM REALLY EXCITEED ABOUT THE COMPLETE FISRT SEASON AND THE NEW SEASON THAT IS COMING UPPP ! WHEN IS COMING OUT THE NEW SEASON ??
Keep in mind that $60 is the list price. Most new release DVDs are 40-50% off the first week, so the full set should be in the $30-40 range when it comes out.
I knew they were gonna do it. That’s why i decided to wait and not buy volume 1. Why are they waiting till September tho? Is it so the season will finish all over the world? I want it like… 2 days after the finale. lol. When Friends ended that last episode was out literally THE NEXT DAY. Hahaha!
Amazon.co.uk are selling the Season 1, part 2 ‘Road to Regionals’. Its out on 13/09/10, the same day the whole season is out.
It seems weird that we get it in the UK and you guys don’t? Maybe they might announce something soon?
Have season 1 vol. 1. surely they will offer season 1 vol 2 for those of us who have the first one. I don’t know about anyone else, but I don’t save recipts for dvds after I’ve made sure they are not flawed
Grab a copy everyone! :D
@trish
are you kidding me no vol2?
i had to convince my mom so much to buy me vol1!1
uhhhh
are you serious!!!!
it comes out one day before my birthday
First… I wish it was more than $10
Second… the proof of purchase is not your receipt. it’s the little square that says “proof of purchase” by the barcode on the cd case…
Third… They should sell season 1 vol. 2…. it’s dumb not to have the completion to the first part
Fourth…. It’s all about making money….
Fifth… I’ll buy it anyways, LOL–
Okay that is ridiculous! I wanted the show right away I couldn’t wait to get the first season. Pre-ordered online, and now I am being punished! There will not be a Road to Regionals, I am stuck with paying $60 for the first season! Thats a rip off!!!! I am so not happy!
There will be a Volume Two Road to Regionals released on the same day in the US too. Check Amazon.
Wait….so the Volume 2 won’t even be released?!!? I just begged my parents to get me volume 1 and it cost like $40! What the heck!
there better be more seasons to come…
Guys, guys. Calm down.
The reason why they did what they did is beacuse a movie has to be popular for a nice realese. They did Glee: Volume one because Fox thought the show was not going to last.
Thats why they have rating. Fox thought that Glee was just going to be like its other shows that only last a month and then they get canceled.
For one, Fox did the most incredible show. Thanks Ryan Murphy. We love you.
As a “Faithfull” Gleek, I will proudly take the gleebate and march to best buy and purchace Glee: The Complete 1st Season
Who ever wrote this artcile really knew what they were talking about.
Season 1 Volume 2 only is available on Amazon.ca for $32.99!
The thing that pisses me off is from the beginning I was told that the Gleebate will be $10 off the complete forst season with proof of buying volume 1. BUT… you have to buy both Vol 1 & the complete 1st season then mail in the proof-of-purchase! So the blow of having to buy them both at regular price is still there & then you get re-imbursed later! Thats bullshit!
The $10 rebate is not working for me! It just takes me to Fox.com/Glee!!!
I’m not seeing the proof of purchase on the complete season at all… There is a tiny (and I mean TINY) rectangle on volume one that says PoP but I’d be afraid of it falling out of the holes in the envelopes.
Not sure what to do
I can’t find the proof of purchase on the blu-ray anywhere. I hear people saying that the DVDs came with an insert POP, but did the blu-ray not come with one?
