Glee Attendees at Comic-Con 2010

Posted by Tinkers on Jun-24-2010 under Cast & Crew, Events

Glee will once again be attending the San Diego Comic-Con! Since last year’s panel, Glee has exploded into an international phenomenon, winning at the Golden Globes, SAG awards, and People’s Choice Awards, just to name a few. The fanbase has exploded, twitter accounts gaining thousands of followers, and the actors have become household names. Some people questioned why Glee first came to the five-day long convention, but their return to Comic-Con was all but imminent. This year, the panel will feature actors that were absent from last year’s.

So, there’s good news and bad news. The good: Chris Colfer, Amber Riley, Jenna Ushkowitz, Kevin McHale, Mark Salling, Heather Morris, and Naya Rivera will be attending the panel and answering fan questions, alongside Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy. The bad: Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Dianna Agron and Cory Monteith will be MIA. Jane Lynch will be absent as well; apparently she had a scheduling conflict.

Now, before you take drastic measures: “Last year, we brought down Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Matthew Morrison, and Dianna Agron. Because we have such a large cast and we can’t bring everyone every year, this year we decided to bring down some of the cast who didn’t get to go last summer,” A Fox spokesperson tells Entertainment Weekly.

Makes sense, right? To quote Sue Sylvester: “We’re giving everyone a chance to be a star! Find your voice, stomp that yard, all that crap!”

  1. Why does the Glee club get a panel on Comic-con ?
I think the organizers forgot this is a Sci-Fi, Comic, Anime fans event and not a marketing spot for the entire TV pop culture.

What will be the hype for the 2011 event ? a jersey shore keynote ?

  2. Obviously you have not been to comic con in a number of year if ever, it has for the last 6-8 years been a mixed convention of fans of popular culture period! No longer a comic book convention, the studios have been launching big and small films and tv shows there forever. So get off your high horse about GLEE ,FOX knows like last year the fans want to see the cast. You dont have to go to their panel or bother with them at all, there is plenty for everyone to like and Glee should be the least of your worries be reminded tho that you trolled on a site dedicated to GLEE so the Jersey shore comment is just tacky and frankly you seem like a jerk for it. When you get out of your mom’s basement perhaps you will spend a little time finding something that takes the mean outta you and makes you smile a bit like GLEE does for us fans.
Just because you are miserable doesn’t we have to be…

  3. I sense lots of anger and aggression in your comment, is it because you didn’t get into your school “Glee club” or what ever they called it in your home town.
it ok, I am sure you are still a very special little girl, a bit angry but “special”.

2nd of all, I didn’t came here to trash Glee, I think its one of the most refreshing TV shows we have seen in the last couple of years.

My point, that you obviously missed was that I dont like these change in Comic-con.

BTW My mom said hi (she is cleaning the basement), she also told me to let you know never let go, someday… maybe not today maybe not tomorrow you will get to be in your high school choir.

here is something too cheer you up

When I find myself in times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it GLEE.
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it GLEE.

Let it GLEE, let it GLEE, let it GLEE, let it GLEE.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it GLEE.

And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree,
there will GLEE an answer, let it GLEE.
For though they may GLEE parted there is still a chance that they will see,
there will GLEE an answer. let it GLEE.

Let it GLEE, let it GLEE, …..

And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light, that shines on me,
shine until tomorrow, let it GLEE.
I wake up to the sound of music, mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it GLEE.

Let it GLEE, let it GLEE, …..

  4. My daughter likes to watch Glee and was very excited to see the cast at Comic-Con this year, however; I found it very rude that after having the fans waiting in a huge line just to get a rafflle ticket and then another 2 hours waiting in line for the autograph, the cast of GLEE was not willing to let anyone take a photo. Come on people!!! If they are attenting an event of this magnitude like Comic-Con (and by the way I agree with Comic-Con, above, why was GLEE even at Comic-Con to begin with) the least you can you is let your fans take a photo of the GLEE cast, after waiting for them forever! After all, that’s why GLEE was at Comic-Con, for a marketing spot for their show. Seem to me that they feel like these huge stars, but they’re not, they have a long way to go before becoming the next best thing. I just want to see where all the GLEE cast will be in 10 years and see if they are not willing to pose for a photo. ‘Nuff said!
