Win Rare Photos of the Glee Cast from the Elephant Project!

Jenna UshkowitzThe Elephant Project is currently auctioning off nearly 50 different items for their holiday round of auctions to help benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. Among the Glee cast members are: Cory Monteith, Jenna Ushkowitz, Kevin McHale, Dianna Agron, Naya Rivera, Jonathan Groff, Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel, Dijon Talton and creator Ryan Murphy. Jenna even wants to send you a thank you Tweet if you win her auction!

Dianna AgronOn her Facebook page, Dianna Agron wrote, “I don’t know if you’ve ever lost someone to Alzheimer’s, but I have. Both of my grandmothers. If you feel compelled, and have the money to share… As my Nana used to say, ‘The sun WILL come out tomorrow.’ And then she’d sing the song to me. She couldn’t carry a tune, but it made me smile every time and I love that we will always have our song.”

We want to help raise awareness of the Elephant Project’s amazing charity auctions, so we are giving away a pack of 5×7 pictures of all 10 of the Glee participants. You can view the watermarked pictures of the Glee cast on the pages of their eBay auctions, but our prize pack will include the un-watermarked versions of the photos.

All you have to do to enter to win is:

1) Tweet the following for an entry:
I just entered to win photos of the Glee cast from @ElephantProject & @GleekRob here: http://bit.ly/tDA8oi
2) Get an entry by leaving a comment telling us why you love Glee.
3) Both send out a Tweet and leave a comment, getting you two entries and doubling your chance to win!

Posted by Rob on Sep-20-2011 under Contests, Events, GleeFan.com Exclusives, Jane Lynch

Here’s some more information from the event page on LiveTalksLA.org:

Club Nokia at L.A. Live
Downtown Los Angeles

Though she’s one of the hottest actresses in Hollywood today, Jane Lynch is anything but an overnight success. At age 50, she didn’t come into her own until the last decade. Before she landed her role in Glee, she’d battled alcoholism and anxiety, learned to embrace her sexuality, and accepted that life is sometimes a series of opportunities that come after what seem, at the time, like disappointments. Funny, poignant and brutally honest, her book Happy Accidents is one part comic-memoir of behind-the-scenes-Hollywood and one part inspirational-narrative about self-acceptance.

“If I could go back in time and talk to my twenty-year-old self, the first thing I would say is: ‘Lose the perm.’ Secondly I would say: ‘Relax. Really. Just relax. Don’t sweat it…Be easy on your sweet self. And don’t drink Miller Lite tall boys in the morning.” — Jane Lynch

Read more event details at LiveTalksLA.org…

We’ve partnered up with Live Talks Los Angeles to send ten of our readers to the 7pm show for free! If you live in the LA area and would be free to attend on the evening of October 2nd, then enter our giveaway before Sept. 27th at 11:59 PST.

All you need to do is leave a comment below with your favorite Jane Lynch or Sue Sylvester quote. Be sure to use the email address you check most when leaving the comment so that we have the best way of contacting you. Alternatively, you can send us an email at Rob@GleeFan.com with your contact information. If you choose to send an email instead of leaving a comment, please make the email subject line read: “Entry to see Jane Lynch in LA” (without the quotations).

We look forward to receiving your entries, and good luck!

Glee Donates $1 Million to Schools

Posted by Laura on Sep-12-2011 under Contests, News, Ryan Murphy

Fox and Glee have teamed up with the National Association for Music Education to hold an amazing competition that will put funding back in to the arts programs of 73 schools across the United States.
Glee: Give a Note
High school glee and drama clubs, as well as other high school arts programs, are invited to enter the competition by submitting videos to GleeGiveANote.com, explaining why their school deserves a grant. Starting in October 2011, voting will begin on the site for approved videos. In December, after 2 rounds of voting, Fox will announce the 73 winning schools who will then receive grants ranging from $10,000 to $50,000.

Already, Glee has pledged $1 million from the sales of the show’s season 2 DVD/Blu-ray release. Visit www.GleeGiveANote.com to find out what you can do to get involved and donate to this worthy cause.

What a wonderful thing to see one of TV’s top shows, using their powers of influence for such a great cause. Good luck to all of the entrants from everyone here at GleeFan.com!

Want to Win Autographed Glee Merch & Help a Fellow Gleek Pay for College?

If you want to win some rare autographed Glee merchandise and help me pay my college tuition at the same time, read on! I’m currently in competition at bublaa.com, and if I can have the largest “bubble” by July 15, then I’ll win $10,000 to help pay for college! Joining my “Gleeks” bubble is quick and easy, and if you help me win the contest, I’ll give away a Glee prize pack of merchandise that I’ve collected over the past two years of running GleeFan.com!

Update (7-14-11): With all of your help and a Tweet from the amazing Jenna Ushkowitz, I’m currently in 2nd place! If I can get back into 1st before 1pm EST Friday, I’ll definitely be mailing out the prize package to one very lucky Gleek.

The prize package includes:
1) A cast photograph signed by Chris Colfer (Kurt), Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina), Kevin McHale (Artie) and Amber Riley (Mercedes)!
2) A Glee calendar signed by Broadway legend Idina Menzel, known on Glee as Rachel Berry’s mother, Shelby Corcoran. She’s also known for originating Maureen in RENT and Elphaba (the lead) in Wicked.
3) A rare writer’s draft of the pilot script from September 26, 2008, including unaired scenes and original character descriptions. This script was given to me directly from Fox, and they are extremely rare. You can see a couple pages of it here.
4) A rare red Glee hat, also direct from Fox’s publicity staff.
5) Glee, The Music: Volume 1 on CD. Own the very first Glee soundtrack, including songs like “Don’t Stop Believin’.”

Here’s all you have to do to be entered to win:
1) Signup for free at bublaa.com. You can even make an account using Facebook Connect to make a speedy process even quicker!
2) Join my “Gleeks” bubble. (This is important because I’ll need to have the biggest bubble by the time the contest ends to win.)
3) Go to the Gleeks bubble’s conversations section and find my “Win rare signed Glee merch! Details inside…” topic! Then leave a reply with some way that I can contact you. It can be your Twitter, Facebook URL, email address, etc. Just so long as I can use it to get in touch with you, you’ll be entered to win!
4) Check back on July 16th to see if I won! If I win, then I’ll be randomly selecting a lucky winner to receive my Glee prize package.

Kevin and IRight now I’m neck in neck with another bubble, so EVERY member is extremely important! When you’re done entering, please get a friend or family member to join as well, because a few extra people will make or break the competition at this point! I’ve seen the Glee fandom come together in the past, and I cannot express how thankful I would be if I actually won the competition. As anyone in college can tell you, student debt is the worst, so I would be incredibly grateful if you guys could help me out! You have no idea how much it would mean to me.

If you want to keep up with my progress in the competition, you can follow me on Twitter @GleekRob as I’ll be Tweeting how things are going. Remember that I’ll only be giving away the prize pack if I win, so if I win, you could win too!

Thank you all so much. Please don’t let this amazing opportunity pass you by!
