What’s Up with Emma?

Posted by Jon on Oct-30-2011 under Interviews, Jayma Mays, Matthew Morrison

Photo Credit:The last time we saw Emma Pillsbury she was sobbing and praying while Will promised (in song, of course) that he would help her overcome her OCD once and for all. Easier said than done, considering that it took Emma the greater part of two seasons to start therapy for her issues. With hints at the end of “Asian F” that she’s returned to her old destructive ways, TVLine interviewed Jayma Mays and asked her if Will had what it takes to fix her.

“Oh, that’s a very deep question… I… I don’t know that anybody can fix anybody, but I do feel that if I’m going to be sentimental about it, there are elements to both Emma and Will that bring out the best in each other, and that’s what good about well-written couples. I definitely think that Will has the ability to do that for Emma.”

Sounds like there’s a light at the end of the tunnel for these two. And, in cheerier news, Jayma confirmed that she will be performing a duet with Matthew Morrison on an original song written by music producer Adam Anders for the show’s second Christmas album, which will be released November 15. Just one more reason for us to put it on our Christmas lists.

Matthew Morrison Set to Direct Episode

Posted by Laura on Sep-26-2011 under Matthew Morrison, News

Matthew Morrison revealed over the weekend that he will direct an upcoming episode of Glee’s third season. According to Entertainment Weekly,

Over the weekend, during an acoustic set and Q&A at LA’s Grammy Museum for their Spotlight series, Morrison announced to the audience that he would be directing Glee‘s eighth episode this season. The storyline of the episode is unknown, but look for Morrison’s episode to air in November.

As Will Schuester on Glee, Matt is used to taking on the role of leader; no doubt he will do an equally great job with this endeavor. It’ll be interesting to see the show directed from a cast members point of view.

Who’s excited for Matt’s directorial debut?

Matthew Morrison Collaborating with Elton John for Upcoming Debut Album

Posted by Stephanie on Oct-14-2010 under Cast & Crew, Matthew Morrison

Matthew MorisonMr. Schue is going solo!

In 2011 fans of high school Spanish teacher and chorus director extraordinaire Mr. Schuester will be able to hear a new sound from Matthew Morrison as he releases his debut solo album. Almost complete, Matthew fits in recording for the album on the weekends when Glee isn’t filming. And is Glee getting in the way of the albums’ production one might ask…no Matthew says, working on Glee only helps promote the album! Tentatively the album is set to release in February and Matthew hopes to tour following its release.

Matthew Morison & Elton JohnIn an interview with EW.com Elton John revealed that he will be collaborating with Matthew on his album. The two have already meet and recording is planned for when Elton John is in L.A. this month. Although there are no plans are in place yet, Elton John is not opposed to lending his music to Glee.

“I’m about three-quarters of the way done with the album,” he says. “During our hiatus was the big chunk of putting it together — it’s full-time ‘Glee‘ right now. I’m trying to do it on the weekends.”

Morrison says the album’s sound is eclectic, with “a lot of stuff that you would find on the adult contemporary charts, but stuff that I hope you’ll hear in the club and you can dance to.”

Could an all-Elton episode of Glee—or even an appearance on the show—be that far off? It’s not in the works…yet. “I love Glee, but no, no, no,” the legendary singer said. “Of course, I’d be into that. It’s always great when someone covers your songs, no matter how good or bad the version is. You know, I started out as a songwriter, so I always get a kick out of that.”

Cory Monteith & Matthew Morrison Comment on LGBTQ Teen Suicides

Posted by Rob on Oct-04-2010 under Cory Monteith, Matthew Morrison, Videos

The Glee cast recently hosted a benefit for the Rape Treatment Center at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center, and in light of the recent suicides from LGBTQ youth, Cory Monteith and Matthew Morrison were asked to voice their concerns. See what they had to say in this video from Entertainment Tonight.

“I’m sure that’s something that [Ryan Murphy] wants to talk about,” Matthew Morrison told us on Sunday, answering how “Glee” would respond to the problem of gay bullying in schools across the U.S. Murphy is the show’s executive producer.

The RTC has dedicated itself to advancing the care of rape victims as well as preventing the occurrence of sexual assault, and Cory Monteith told us that he was glad to be a part of the fundraiser: “It’s really important for a show like ‘Glee,’ with all the exposure that it’s getting, to start to bring important causes like this out in the open,” Monteith told us.

“It’s shedding a light on a subject that a lot of people keep in the closet,” said Morrison.

While it appears from the video that Chris Colfer was absent at the event, when asked via Twitter if he would be making an It Gets Better Project video, he responded saying that one was in the works. Later, he tweeted: “Just shot an #ItGetsBetter PSA with @TrevorProject! It’s so important we make it known there is love and understanding out there!” When the video goes online, we’ll be sure to post it.

Mr. Shue No Longer Shaving His Head for Britney Episode

Posted by Tinkers on Aug-10-2010 under Glee Episode Spoilers, Heather Morris, Matthew Morrison, News

Sources were originally reporting that Mr. Shue would shave his head in protest of New Directions perfoming Britney’s music. It appears that part of the episode was meant to be a surprise, but is no longer happening now that everyone knows. Whoops!

Heather Morris tells Access Hollywood at the Teen Choice Awards: “I guess they’re deciding not to do it now because it was supposed to be the surprise…then Ryan got wind that everybody found out and he was like, ‘I don’t think we can do it anymore because now it’s out’.”

Matthew Morrison added that if the head-shaving happened anyway, he would actually shave his head, instead of using a double or a head cap. “I’d have to shave it ‘cause then it wouldn’t make sense with the rest of the series,” Matthew said. Glad he’s thinking about continuity!

He could totally pull it off though. “I’m so hot,” he kidded, “I did it a couple of years ago for a movie and I like it.”

Heather joked about having Britney shave her own head for the episode. She said she’d opt for the bald cap. I would too.
