Its that time of the year again for a night full of comedy and music at this year’s Trevor Live. Trevor Live is an annual charity event that fundraises for The Trevor Project, the leading national anti-suicide prevention organization aimed at LGBTQ teens.
As with previous years, many of the Glee cast show their support for LGBTQ youth and the organization by attending this annual event. This year, cast members scheduled to appear are Darren Criss, Chris Colfer, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Dot Marie Jones, Kevin McHale, Jessica Sanchez, Kristin Chenoweth, and Naya Rivera.
I’ll be there to cover the Red Carpet arrivals for Gleefan. Tweet me, @GleekGenica, any questions you have or leave a comment below, and I’ll pick a few to ask to the Glee Cast.
The event takes place this Sunday, December 2nd at The Hollywood Palladium.
A new announcement from Glee creator Ryan Murphy brings exciting news for Season 4. While many characters graduated and took their exit from the New Directions choir room during the season finale, it would appear that everyone will be returning this fall. While Lea Michele and Cory Monteith are likely to be seen in most, if not all, episodes, Chris Colfer, Naya Rivera, Kevin McHale, Amber Riley, Dianna Agron, Mark Salling, and Harry Shum Jr will be making appearances as well, showing their lives post-graduation.
Along with Jenna Ushkowitz, Kevin McHale, Heather Morris, Darren Criss, Matthew Morrison, Jayma Mays, and Jane Lynch (who are all set to return as well), Chord Overstreet has been promoted to a series regular. Add into that three new series regularsand it’s looking like things might be getting a bit crowded.
In contrast, in a recent podcast interview with Gold Derby, Murphy stated that they were “cutting back on the number of characters… After three seasons of a lot of those choir room scenes with 18 people, it became a bit much.”
That being said, it will be interesting to see how Glee will tackle all the storylines of the new and current New Directions members, as well as the ongoing storylines of the graduated cast. How is Mercedes doing in LA? Will Kurt ever make it to New York? Will Puck ever get out of Lima? Do we get to see Will and Emma’s wedding?
What do you think? What are some of the most pressing questions Glee still needs to answer? Let us know in the comments!
Airing during the spring premiere on April 10, Glee will cover the indie smash hit by Gotye, “Somebody That I Used to Know.” The infectious single from Belgium-Australian singer-songwriter will be covered by Blaine and his brother, played by Matt Bomer. The song has been transformed from a heartbreak-ridden duet to an ode to a classic sibling rivalry between the two brothers.
It’s a sad day, Gleeks. The annual Glee tour will not be happening this year to allow the cast time to relax. The Hollywood Reporter is saying that the Glee cast will receive a two month break, but a one-night benefit concert is being planned in California.
A spokesperson for Fox told The Hollywood Reporter, “We currently have no plans of touring the cast this summer.”
The one night event will be at the Hollywood Bowl and will raise money for Glee‘s Give a Note Foundation, which raises money for the arts education in middle schools and high schools. The goal is to raise $10 million this year.
The cast’s various projects would most likely interfere with the tour. Such projects include Chris’ new book as well as new movie. Also, Amber and Naya are gearing up for the release of their new albums.
It should be noted that Ryan Murphy, who usually goes on tour with the cast, is also extremely busy with his three other shows: The Glee Project, American Horror Story, and an upcoming comedy show called The New Normal on NBC.
What’re your thoughts on this announcement? Do you wish the cast were touring?
Get the stockings and ugly sweaters ready for Tuesday’s all new Christmas themed episode! To get everyone in the holiday spirit, the Glee Vevo account uploaded two performances from the episode called “Extraordinary Merry Christmas.”
In my opinion, the performances are great and definitely put me in a cheerful mood. I can’t wait for the holidays to arrive!
Here is “All I Want For Christmas Is You” sung by the incredible Amber Riley.
Also, here is “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” which features the entire glee club!
Sunday night I had the amazing opportunity to attend The Trevor Project’sTrevor Live 2011 as a member of the press for GleeFan.com. For those of you who don’t know what Trevor Live is, it’s a charity event which aims to raise awareness and garner support for LGBTQ youth. This year’s Trevor Live was a celeb studded event that was jam packed with skits, appearances, and performances from artists and actors spanning from Amy Poehler to Lady Gaga to Glee’sAmber Riley and Darren Criss.
On the day the event was hosted, I arrived at the Hollywood Palladium unsure of what to expect. This was my first time ever doing something of this magnitude. How does a red carpet work? Would I actually get to interview anyone? My questions were immediately answered once I checked in. I obtained my media pass and was directed towards GleeFan’s reserved spot on the red carpet. It was very cramped as all the press were only allotted a foot an a half of space each! The press to my right was Billboard.com and the media on my left was the official Trevor Project documentary! Not gonna lie, at first it was really intimidating, but as the day progressed, everything became more comfortable. Everyone in our corner was really friendly and we all shared tips and scoop! It was crazy!
The red carpet was very fast paced and combined with our less than stellar red carpet location, it was difficult to actually engage in interviews with many of the Glee Cast. By the time they reached our portion of the press line, their publicists would whisk them inside the theater. Luckily, I was fortunate enough to be able to conduct interviews with Dianna Agron, Kevin McHale, Adam Anders, Damian McGinty, and Cameron Mitchell.
Below is Dianna’s and Kevin’s interviews. Dianna discusses topics spanning from her upcoming project You, Me, & Charlie to her upcoming scenes with Rachel to the new direction Quinn is headed towards. Kevin chats with us about The Trevor Project, a Jackson family tribute, Kanye West, kilts and more!
Hope you enjoy these interviews with Dianna and Kevin! I’m swamped with final exams this week, but I just wanted to get this up before “Hold on to Sixteen” airs because they both give us some inside scoop about the episode! The interviews with Adam, Damian, and Cameron will be up some time next week. Also look out for photos from the event including “funny faces” with Dianna, Kevin, Cameron.
(Bear with me guys! I was doing this all alone, so if the camera is a little shaky or my hand is in shot, sorry!) I still cannot believe this legitimately happened.
The Trevor Project is a figuratively and literally a lifeline for LGBTQ teens. If you are in need of some support, make sure to check out The Trevor Project.
The Trevor Project’s annual Trevor Live is back again this year and a bunch of Glee cast members are slated to be there. Trevor Live is an annual event that raises money for The Trevor Project, the world’s leading anti-suicide prevention organization aimed at LGBT teens.

While many will still comment on to strange parallel between Daniel Radcliffe and Darren Criss‘s career paths, we can’t even begin to describe how excited we are for Darren’s Broadway debutin‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’this upcoming January!
Never heard of the show? Here’s a quick synopsis fromH2$’s webpage.
HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS (WITHOUT REALLY TRYING) is a classic Broadway musical comedy about a wily window washer, J. Pierrepont Finch, who, with the aid of a trusty self-help book How to Succeed in Business, enjoys a riotous rise up the corporate ladder.
Following in Harry Potter’s footsteps, Darren will take the lead role as J. Pierrepont Finch, and will star alongside Beau Bridges, who will be replacing John Larroquette as J.B. Biggley.
When will this man’s awesomeness end? Don’t answer that. The answer is never. Darren Criss is slated to perform at the Sing Out, Raise Hope charity event that will raise money for The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and The Trevor Project. The event takes place on December 17th at Alice Trully Hall in New York.
Darren is no stranger to charity work. He previously performed at Trevor Project Live and is slated to be in attendance again this year.
Tickets for the event range from $75 to $200 and can be purchased here.

As it was confirmed tonight in episode 3×03 “I Am Unicorn, Blaine Anderson played by Darren Criss, is indeed a junior. In fact, he’s worried that he won’t nab a role in McKinley High musical, because he thinks they should go to the seniors.
As we already know from “The Purple Piano Project”, Kurt is a senior, and now he’s fighting Blaine for the lead role in West Side Story. So what does that mean for Klaine?
Likely, it means lots of tension in the near future. But how about in the long-term? It might mean we will see Kurt Hummel visiting Blaine Anderson at McKinley during Season 4!
It sure stirred up a lot of controversy this week, as many Gleeks thought Blaine should be a senior. It was indeed mentioned in Season 2 that Blaine was a “Junior Member” of the Warblers.
Brad Falchuk quickly came to defend the contradictory writing when he tweeted this:
Never said what grade Blaine was in.”Junior Warbler” just meant he was an underclassman. All relationships solid. Next two ep. really great.
Like it or not, Gleeks, Blaine is here to stay! So, what do you think? Will Darren Criss be the Finn Hudson of Season 4?
More soulful, sweet music from our favorite Warbler is coming your way! Darren Criss‘ brother, Chuck, tweeted earlier today that he and his brother were working on a Bob Dylan cover. The song will be featured on an upcoming Bob Dylan tribute album with proceeds going towards Amnesty International. The album will be in celebration of Bob Dylan’s 70th birthday and Amnesty International’s 50th anniversary.
Which Bob Dylan song would you like to hear Chuck and Darren cover?
Over the course of 2 Seasons of Glee, we’ve seen and heard our New Directions belt out show tunes from various beloved Broadway musicals such as Wicked and Rent. Now in Season 3, we finally get to see them partake in one.
According to an interview with the The Hollywood Reporter at Fox‘s Eco Casino Party, Lea Michele revealed that McKinley High is producing a musical that the members of New Directions will be auditioning for. When asked what musical they were producing, she would not give any specifics, but Michele revealed:
[It's a] classic Broadway musical with one female lead and one male lead.
With that being said, drama is sure to ensue as the members of New Directions fight for the leads. In regards to Rachel Berry’s main objective, Michele revealed:
[Rachel is] vying for the lead in the school musical and she has a little competition with Mercedes (Amber Riley).
Not only is competition for the female lead stiff, the competition for the male lead is just as tough, if not more. Chris Colfer‘s Kurt, Cory Monteith‘s Finn, and Darren Criss‘ Blaine are all in the running for the top honor. Yes, you read that right! Blaine is auditioning for the musical! That means Blaine will eventually make the transfer over from Dalton Academy to McKinley High in Season 3.
One person notably missing from the competition for male lead is Kevin McHale‘s Artie. Instead of participating as an actor, Artie has been credited as co-producer of the musical alongside Dot Marie Jones‘ Coach Beiste and Jayma Mays‘ Ms. Pillsbury. The trio will be holding auditions and call backs to see who they’ll cast.
Glee yet again continues its streak of arts education by informing the viewers of the hardships that accompany an entertainment production. Some of the issues sure to arise during this new story arc is the heartbreak of not getting a part and the discrimination of typecasting. Colfer reveals that typecasting might have an influence on the casting decision. In regards to Kurt’s reaction to the situation, Colfer said:
It’s a really interesting learning process that he goes through, learning that people can’t see him as anything but him.
Will typecasting play a role in the outcome? Who do you think the trio will award the lead female and male roles? What musical do you want them to produce? Sound off below!
