Are you wondering how Fox will keep Glee fresh in the viewers’ heads before their return to TV for season 2? One way will be with a new series of officially licensed novels. EW’s Shelf Life just announced that book publisher Little, Brown Books for Young Readers has freshly inked a deal with Fox, and the first novel in the series will be on shelves come August. It will be titled, “Glee – The Beginning“, and will be a prequel to the show in which we get to see more into the lives of the characters prior to joining New Directions. It will try to explore some of the back stories of the characters in ways that we haven’t haven’t gotten to see on the small screen, and will include a double-sided poster.
So while the novel series may be lacking the show’s signature music, their original stories will try to hold fans over until the show starts up again. Besides, it will be nice to have something to read in between episodes! Current speculation is that some of the Glee writers may have a hand in the book’s creation, which would definitely be a good thing. In most cases with licensed TV novels, the stories must stay fairly true to the canon, so nothing major can take place. The books must leave characters the same way they found them, so not much development can take place without deviating from the plot of the TV series. However, if they can do it well, I think a novel series could be very successful and more importantly, hopefully the fans will love it.
The news has just broke out on a deal involving a potential Glee guest star! Be prepared for a spoiler alert! John Stamos is in negotiations to play Emma Pillsbury’s dentist boyfriend. According to Michael Ausiello from EW.com, they are nearing a deal, so don’t be surprised to see the former Full House star on our beloved show! The irony lies within Emma Pillsbury’s quote: “They say it takes certainty more than talent to make a star. I mean, look at John Stamos.” Emma said this quote during an Acafellas scene, in which she tried to cheer Will up due to the Glee members wanting to hire Dakota Stanley.
John Stamos is known for his starring role on Full House as Uncle Jessie and also has some Broadway credits under his belt. If the negotiations go through, you can definitely bet on a sing-off for our lovely Emma Pillsbury’s hand!
Yup! You read right! Details.com, the geniuses that they are, gave Jonathan Groff a camera to run around wild with on the set. What was even more brilliant was the captioning that Jonathan Groff, himself, provided for each photo.
Photos include uncensored shots of Jonathan Groff with Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, and Jane Lynch, as well as many behind the scenes views of Vocal Adrenaline’s numbers. It even includes some spoilers for the finale, so beware!
So go on, enjoy! Click the source link for more photos from your favorite Glee guest star and his commentary on each.
Glee’s very first season finale, “Journey”, is coming upon us and it is only right that we are served a healthy helping of promos. The following performance of Journey’s “Faithfully” will be having Fichel (Finn/Rachel) lovers (myself included) squealing in delight. Enjoy!
Also, here is the promo for the episode. Thanks to GleePodcast for the upload!
Yes, you read correctly. Here is a full minute of Glee… re-enacted by cats. Trust me, it is the most hilarious recap of season one that you will find. I think my favorite kittens are Will, Kurt and Rachel… Enjoy!
Yay! We finally get to see more of Terri Schuester, played by Jessalyn Gilsig. Jessalyn chatted with Korbi Ghosh on Terri’s upcoming role on Glee. Finally, Terri will get her chance to sing in a musical number, with none other than Finn and Puck! When asked if Terri’s relationship with Finn would be anything more than platonic, she responded, “Get your heads out of the gutter!”
As you can imagine, Glee‘s portrayal of Christians has ruffled more than a few feathers. The only outright Christian character, Quinn, was pregnant by the fourth episode, and subsequently kicked out of her house by her steadfast traditionalist father. Emma includes Anne Coulter in her list of detrimental children’s role models. Sue takes a jab at Sarah Palin. Quinn’s judgmental father watches Glenn Beck. While most applaud Glee for it’s promotion of acceptance and community, many of the show’s conservative Christian fans have yet to be gratified. So Ryan Murphy has decided to introduce a Christian character for season two.
“I’m adding a Christian character,” he says to TV Guide. “We’ve taken a couple jabs at the right wing this year, so what I want to do with this character is have someone who Christian kids and parents can recognize and say, ‘Oh, look—I’m represented there, too!’ If we’re trying to form a world of inclusiveness, we’ve got to include that point of view as well.”
Sue Sylvester may not have yet found true love on Glee but Jane Lynch, most definitely has! Multiple sources have confirmed that Jane has finally wed her longtime girlfriend Lara Embry. Their vows were exchanged at the Blue Heron Restaurant in Sunderland, Massachusetts on Monday, May 31st. Massachusetts is one of the 5 states that allow same-sex marriage.
It was a small ceremony with 21 guests who feasted on their choice of duck or sea bass. The cake, a very important part of any wedding, was a 3-tiered vanilla cake with chocolate mousse filling. The infamous Glee star confirmed the pending nuptials back in April.
Our congratulations goes out to Miss Lynch and her new bride!
Ever wonder if Miley Cyrus may guest star on Glee one day, or even if they might slip in more of her songs, or dare I say it: a Miley Cyrus-themed episode? Think again. Miley Cyrus has already let it be known to the public of her disinterest in the hit show.
As many avid fans may already know, the episode Laryngitis featured Rachel Berry attempting to sing her rendition of “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus, only to discover she has tonsillitis. When asked about her own thoughts of Glee, the Hannah Montana Star gave Billboard Magazine the following quote.
“Honestly, musicals? I just can’t.What if this was real life and I was just walking down the street on Rodeo Drive and all of a sudden I just burst into song about how much I love shoes?” There was then a pause, followed by laughter as she added in, “It would get hits on YouTube”.
The interview, in addition with the quotes above, can both be read in June’s issue of Billboard Magazine.
Chris Colfer was on The View and they talked about the sold-out concert tour, Kurt’s relationship with his father, and Chris’ advice for people who are being bullied in real life. The women of The View were amazed by his voice, especially in “Rose’s Turn.”
You can’t see it in the clip above, but Chris says that filming that scene was one of the best moments of his life. He says, “I think that there’s a certain power that an empty audience has and when I was performing that number, it was just me and the crew, and it was a really late night, and it was just awesome being able to get up there and perform and just lit up on stage.” Also, when asked who his dream guest would be, he replied, “Oh, I really want Julie Andrews to play Kurt’s grandmother.” That would be awesome!
Mr. Schuester, do you have any idea how ridiculous it is to give the lead solo in “Sit Down You’re Rocking The Boat” to a boy in a wheelchair? — Rachel
