Cory Monteith and Taylor Swift?

Posted by Rob on Jan-31-2010 under Cory Monteith

Cory Monteith and Taylor SwiftThe latest Glee buzz is that Cory Monteith is going out with none other than music superstar (and Grammy winner) Taylor Swift. Keep in mind, this hasn’t been confirmed by anyone, so we’re keeping it in the rumor mill for now.

Earlier, on January 29th, the two were spotted having a ‘diner date’ at Jerry’s Deli. Now they’ve been photographed together again, this time at a pre-Grammy party hosted by Clive Davis, as shown here.

Some blogs have pointed out that they started following each other on Twitter at about the same time, but that doesn’t exactly scream suspicious to me… Then again, Taylor Swift is single (adiós, Taylor Lautner) as is Cory Monteith, which he had to point out numerous times when fending off rumors of an off-screen relationship between him and co-star Lea Michele. Other than a bit of an age gap (Taylor being 20 and Cory being 27), they could make a pretty cute couple!

What do you think about the latest rumored pairing? More importantly, which sounds beter… Tory or Caylor? My personal favorite is Cortay. xD

Update: The Gossip Cop is reporting that the two “have been on a few dates.” But is it anything serious? Also, Taylor Swift told E!, “I’m really loving Glee right now… If it did happen, I’d love to see what they would do with me.” I don’t know about you, but I think that Ryan Murphy would be able to come up with some way to creatively work Taylor into the show for an episode or two. It certainly would bring in the viewers!

Third Role Revealed – A Male Mercedes!

Posted by Tinkers on Jan-29-2010 under Cast & Crew, News

mercedes-jones-photoA few weeks ago, Ausiello revealed two of the three new roles which will be cast in the the nationwide casting search. One was a jock boyfriend for Kurt, the second was an “Eve Harrington-esque” rival for Rachel The third has just been revealed – it’s a male Mercedes!

“The third role is an R&B-singing teen. A male Mercedes!” Says Ryan Murphy to Ausiello.

Excited yet, gleeks?! Well, chances are this character could be a love interest for Mercedes as well as her male counterpart. Ausiello cleverly hid the spoiler beneath asterisks – but we decoded it for you. :) “Kurt isn’t the only seemingly celibate Glee character getting a love interest next season!”

Idina Menzel Currently Filming an Episode in the Back Nine!

Posted by Tinkers on Jan-21-2010 under Glee Episode Spoilers, Lea Michele, News

idinatweet

According to Lea Michele and several other sources (including @UltimateGleeks), Idina Menzel is hard at work on the set of Glee as we speak!

It’s been officially confirmed that Idina is playing the coach of Vocal Adrenaline. She will be appearing early in the back nine and reprising her role for the season finale.

Rumors were rampant of what part she was to play, specifically rumors of her playing Rachel’s biological mother, for obvious reasons. There is an eerie resemblance between the two, and creator Ryan Murphy has taken note. But, as reported by Ausiello, it’s doubtful her character will turn out to be Rachel’s biological mother.

Another source claims that Idina and Matthew Morrison, who play the coaches of Vocal Adrenaline and New Directions respectively, will even have a make-out scene! I dunno, crazy enough to believe?! You decide.

Ask Ausiello: Spoilers About Idina Menzel & Kurt’s BF

Posted by Rob on Jan-21-2010 under Cast & Crew, Glee Episode Spoilers, News

Idina MenzelMichael Ausiello of EW.com’s The Ausiello Files released even more Glee casting spoilers! He has really been on a roll lately. Here’s what he had to say about Idina Menzel’s role on Glee and the character of Kurt’s boyfriend in Season 2:

Question: It’s so obvious that Idina Menzel is going to turn out to be Rachel’s mom on Glee it isn’t even funny. —Joel
Ausiello: Series creator Ryan Murphy, who acknowledges that the two share an almost spooky resemblance, isn’t ruling out such a twist. At least not completely. “I don’t think I’ll do that,” he says. “We wrote her part as a sort of Faye Dunaway of Network. She’s the female coach of Vocal Adrenaline. That’s what she plays.” Murphy says Menzel will appear in the first episode back on April 13 and then return for the regional showdown with New Directions in the season finale.

Question: Can you tell us anything else about Kurt’s boyfriend on Glee? —Andy
Ausiello: Rumor has it he’ll be *n *h* *o***a** *e**.

‘True Blood,’ ‘Gossip Girl,’ and more!

Neil Patrick Harris to Guest Star on Glee!

Posted by Tinkers on Jan-19-2010 under News

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER Speaking of Ausiello…he finished off today’s news with a real kicker: NPH, the hilarious star of How I Met Your Mother, is stopping by Glee to make a guest appearance!

He’s said to guest star on the episode directed by Josh Whedon, who he’s worked with previously on Dr. Horrible’s Sing-a-Long Blog. In addition, he’d be teaming up again with Glee’s choreographer, Zach Woodlee, who he’s worked with on his recent musical episode of HIMYM.

It’s not quite official yet, though – apparently, CBS has to give the green light for its star to make an appearance on a Fox show. But according to Ausiello, this shouldn’t be a problem, seeing as both shows are produced by 20th Century Fox.

Ausiello’s Casting and Guest Star Spoilers!

Posted by Rob on Jan-18-2010 under Glee Episode Spoilers

Jennifer LopezMichael Ausiello of EW.com’s The Ausiello Files spoke with Ryan Murphy just moments before Glee‘s Golden Globe win! Maybe Murphy had been sipping on the champagne all evening, because he lot a LOT of spoilers slip! Here’s what he had to say about two of the new characters they’re going to cast and which celebs they’d like to have on the show!

* Kurt’s gonna get lucky. “We just announced we’re doing a nationwide search for the season 2 cast, and [a boyfriend for Kurt is] one of the three roles that we’re adding. And we’re going to make them a power couple. We’re not going to do the whole hiding in the shadows thing. We’re going to make them popular, and out and proud and glamorous. Like prom king and king. We’re doing the opposite of what’s been done.” But wait, there’s more: “We’re also casting sort of a Eve Harrington [from All About Eve] to kind of steal Rachel’s thunder a little. So those are two of the three.”

* He’s gonna keep us seeing stars. “We got Olivia [Newton-John],” he recounts. “She’s going to come on and do ‘Physical’ with Jane Lynch. Jennifer Lopez wants to do the show, so I’m going to meet with her. In the past couple of months, a lot of people are coming out saying they love the show and would I meet with them and write something. But I don’t want to stunt-cast too much, because I think the [musical] numbers are already so extravagant. If I do Jennifer, I would want her to be, like, a lunch lady. And [exec producer] Brad Falchuk? s obsessed with having Bruce Springsteen on the show, so I’m sure we’ll go after him at some point.”

Update: I talked to a source at Fox and they confirmed that Jennifer Lopez HAS accepted the offer to be a cafeteria lunch lady on Glee. I wish J Lo was a lunch lady at my school!
