Another interesting article to focus on an actor/actress from Glee. This one is about Cory Monteith, who plays Finn on Glee. It talks about how Cory landed the TV gig and how he relates to his ‘All-American’ character, being a Canadian.

This is a very interesting article where Mark Salling, who plays Puck on Glee, talks about how hard it was to make it in LA and finally get on a TV show like Glee.
Mark Salling had almost given up on LA.
The 27-year-old musician and songwriter, who grew up in Lake Highlands, had been struggling for a showbiz break for seven years, teaching guitar lessons and doing local gigs to get by. But his career was stagnant.
“I was planning on moving back to maybe Austin and trying my luck there,” he says. But first, he’d try one more thing.

Are you excited for repeats of Glee on Fox? Well you should be! Fox has teamed up with Twitter and announced that repeats of episodes of Glee and Fringe are now “Tweet-peats”. During the re-run episodes, live Twitter feeds from the cast and crew will scroll across the bottom of the screen. Also, you can follow the Twitter feeds online and even tweet the cast live!
For Glee, the first Tweet-peat will be on Friday, Sept. 4th at 9/8c pm. They will re-air the pilot (with the extended pilot airing 2 days prior on Wednesday, Sept. 2nd) and some members of the cast will be tweeting along with behind the scenes info and maybe even a couple mini-spoilers. ;)
The east and west coast airings will have different tweeters, while the “heartland” will have the east coast tweets. The west coast airing will be tweeted by Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer and Amber Riley, and the east coast airing will be tweeted by Lea Michele, Kevin McHale and Mark Salling.

Here’s some info on the new Glee soundtrack that will be released in November. If sales go well, there will be a Volume 2 released in December!
Twentieth TV is teaming with Columbia Records to release a series of soundtracks from Fox’s upcoming musical drama “Glee.”
The partners will release “Glee: The Music, Volume 1” on Nov. 3. It contains 17 tracks performed during the show’s first season.
The move follows the success of the cast’s cover of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’,” which hit No. 1 on the iTunes chart following its use in the show’s pilot, which was previewed last season after “American Idol.”
Selections on the first soundtrack include renditions of Queen’s “Somebody to Love,” Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” and Kanye West’s “Gold Digger.”

Lea Michele spoke with NY Daily about what it’s like to be a “TV Star” and how she viewed TV stars when growing up. It’s actually a very nice article and definitely worth a read. :)
“I never really thought there would be a place on television for me,” Michele told the Daily News. “I have a very specific look. I’m Jewish. I’m Italian.”
And now, she is a television star. The Bronx-born, Tenafly-raised Michele leads the cast of “Glee” – the Fox musical comedy already considered one of the hottest shows of the upcoming television season.
“I remember growing up and watching television, and there would be so many shows where I said I wish I could be as beautiful as her, or as cool as her,” Michele says. “I remember looking up to Barbra Streisand, and thinking, ‘Finally, someone who has a Jewish nose, who didn’t get a nose job.’”

After winning over critics and fans alike with their special preview in May, the cast of “Glee” is ready to hit the ground running, one rousing musical performance at a time.
With the Sept. 9 season premiere only weeks away, we caught up with cast members on the final stop of their 10-city ‘Gleek’ tour at Hot Topic in Hollywood. The cast was tight-lipped but we managed to get the scoop on everything from a fake pregnancy (thank goodness Terri isn’t really preggers!) to possible new relationships (Finn and Rachel?) in addition to all the juicy details on upcoming guest stars and music picks.
For those who really can’t get enough “Glee” — and especially those with a knack for karaoke — Show Tracker has learned exclusively from MySpace that starting Sept. 9, MySpace Karaoke will host monthly “Glee” club contests where fans can perform tunes from that night’s episode to win a trip to Hollywood to see a taping of the show.
So what can we expect from the glee club members this year? Who are the cast’s favorite guest stars so far? What recent radio hits have made it onto the cast’s wish list of performances? Today’s the final day. The Glee tour is coming to a close with it’s last stop back “home” in Los Angeles. They’ll be at Hollywood & Highland, signing posters and answering questions. In the morning, Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz and Amber Riley were on Power 106 FM. Also, Cory Monteith and Lea Michele appeared on Good Day LA. Here’s some video of them in the Fox 11 studio. Eager young cast cheering on Fox’s super-promoted new musical, “Glee”
So far, on their 10-city promotional tour for Fox’s “Glee,” the show’s cast has lost sleep, geographic bearings — and more than a few belongings.
Cory Monteith, who plays hunky but naive Finn, lost his Kindle.
Amber Riley, who plays larger-than-life Mercedes, lost her bank card.
Dianna Agron, who is deliciously nasty as head cheerleader Quinn, lost her camera.
And Jenna Ushkowitz, who plays an angry Goth named Tina Cohen-Chang, lost her Nintendo DS.They’re not irresponsible high-schoolers. They just play them on TV.
Seven “Glee” cast members passed through Denver briefly last week, greeting fans at a mall and talking up the show for the local Fox outlet.
They’re due to be in Australia for the series’ premiere two weeks after its debut here. Clearly the marketing whirl is new to most of them. They are just beginning to understand that the amount of energy and money Fox is putting into the launch of this show is something special. Never has a network groomed a hit so intently.
At lunch in Denver they discussed how they are like and unlike their characters, what music they listen to, the genius of the show’s creator Ryan Murphy (“Nip/Tuck,” “Popular”) and how they replay certain of castmate Jane Lynch’s on-screen facial expressions admiring her comic acting.
